PA Business Woman Represents USA as US State Department Corporate Ambassador
PA Business Woman Represents USA as US State Department Corporate Ambassador Wexford, PA – July 17, 2009 – Catherine V. Mott, CEO and founder of Blue Tree Capital Group and Blue Tree Allied Angels, recently returned from Cairo, Egypt where she was one of three business women from the United States invited to present at the Corporate Ambassadors Program for the Egyptian Hub of MENA (Middle Eastern and North African) Businesswomen’s Network June 9-10. The two-day event, “Surviving and Thriving in Turbulent Times,” was organized by MENA, the Association for Women’s Total Advancement and Development (AWTAD), and Vital Voices Global Partnership, and co-sponsored by the Middle East Partnership Initiative at the U.S. Department of State. “Although countries have their political differences, this experience reminded me that business women everywhere share common issues and concerns that transcend politics,” said Ms. Mott. “In Cairo, we exchanged not only those concerns, but ideas for their solutions as well.” The other U.S. representatives were Isisara Bey, Harlem, NY , Vice President of Programs and Education for Count Me In; and Saskia Strick, Los Angeles, CA, CEO and President of International Checkout Inc. The Corporate Ambassadors joined Egyptian counterparts to share knowledge on Surviving and Thriving in Turbulent Times and its potential role in Egypt. 150-200 Egyptian businesswomen and men participated in the exchange of ideas to help solidify the critical link between businesswomen in the MENA region and the U.S. BlueTree Allied Angels is a regional group of accredited investors who invest in regional early-stage companies.
