Catherine Mott, CEO and founder of Blue Tree Capital Group, among Pittsburgh’s largest networks of angel investors, has been elected board chairman of the Angel Capital Education Foundation, Kansas City, for a two-year term.
The foundation is an international organization focused on education and research in the field of angel investing. It was founded in 2005 by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and the board of directors of the Angel Capital Association. Mott joined the board two years ago.
Blue Tree, based in Wexford, north of Pittsburgh, was founded in 2003 and provides management oversight and services to BlueTree Allied Angels, a group of accredited investors who meet monthly to evaluate and consider early stage investments. It has invested in 23 young western Pennsylvania companies to date and currently has $10 million in total capital under management.
