Pittsburgh-based Gridwise, which previously operated in 41 major U.S. cities, has launched nationally. 

The Gridwise platform is now available to drivers anywhere in the U.S. 

“The expansion nationwide really means that we’re able to help empower drivers and help essential gig workers across the entire country in helping them be more efficient and profitable on the road,” Ryan Green, founder and CEO of Gridwise, said. 

The growth comes during the Covid-19 pandemic, which Gridwise reported brought an influx of newly unemployed people into the gig work economy and increased competition among drivers. 

“Over the past, as we went city by city and market by market, we have had tens of thousands of drivers request us to be available where they are,” Green said. 

Green said after building out high-density networks in those 41 cities, the company had the resources to make that happen. Gridwise, which has 16 full time employees, did not disclose its revenue. 

Green said that looking forward he plans to announce several new features on the Gridwise platform in coming months.
